RESA CORE Registration and Submission Deadlines in 2016-2017

Submission Deadlines in 2016-2017

In 2016-2017, task deadlines have been re-ordered based on feedback from Ohio educators. New deadlines will allow first-time candidates more time to complete the Formative and Summative Assessment Task. As such, the First Lesson Cycle Task and the Communication and Professional Growth Task will be due by December 15, 2016, and the Second Lesson Cycle Task and the Formative and Summative Assessment Task will be due by February 15, 2017. For candidates retaking the RESA, all tasks will be due by February 15, 2017. Finally, we are pleased to announce that 2016-2017 RESA Score Reports will be released on June 1, 2017.

We encourage eligible resident educators to begin reviewing task requirements, collecting evidence, and drafting responses offline. Registered 2016-2017 candidates will be able to access the RESA submission system beginning on September 15, 2016.

CORE Registration

The Ohio Department of Education’s CORE Registration system will open by September 1, 2016. All Resident Educators eligible to take the RESA this year, in addition to 2015-2016 candidates who are eligible to re-take one or more RESA tasks this year, must be registered in CORE by their Program Coordinator by November 15, 2016.

We strongly recommend that you register eligible Resident Educators as early as possible. On September 15th, Educopia will begin to send RESA submission system activation links to candidates who are registered in CORE. These activation links will be sent to candidates who are registered in CORE on a weekly basis through the CORE registration deadline. The sooner you register your RESA candidate in CORE, the more time he or she will have to work on his or her tasks using the submission software.
