RESA Assessors

Assessor Update – Tasks 1&3 and Task 2 Scoring is Wrapping Up!

We’re almost there. As we near the end of 2015-2016 RESA scoring, many of you will begin running out of tasks to score that match your qualifications and will receive a message stating ‘Task Unavailable’ when you ask for work.  If you receive this message, we suggest that you log back in to check for work on a weekly, rather than daily basis. If you have received this “Tasks Unavailable” message for a few weeks, it is safe to assume that there are no more tasks for you to score. We appreciate all that you do to assist with these efforts.

Assessor Update – April, 2016 – New Help Desk Schedule

We are nearing the end of 2016-2016 RESA Scoring. As such, we are no longer offering weekend coverage. The Help Desk will be available from Monday – Friday, 2 pm – 10 pm EST, with a break in coverage from 6-7 pm EST. Please keep these hours in mind when you reach out for assistance. Many thanks for all of the work you do, and for helping us wrap up RESA scoring in the next month!

Assessor Update – March, 2016

Referrals, Certification Timeline, Help Desk Hours

Please see below for the latest updates on scoring the RESA this season:
1.) Assessor Referrals Requested: We need your help! We are still looking for educators in the following subject areas to train to score the RESA: Construction and Mechanical Trades, Health and Medical, Safety, and Arabic. We are offering a referral bonus of $100 to assessors who refer an educator in one of these subject areas who is able to successfully certify to score the RESA. (Referral payments will be made upon successful certification by the person you referred). If you know an educator in one of these subject areas with 5 or more years of experience, please email our Help Desk at with subject heading “Assessor Referral – [insert subject area].” We will be accepting referrals until March 18th, so thank you in advance for sending your referrals over the next week!
2.) Certification Timeline for Assessors in General K-12 Subject Areas: While we are still accepting new assessors in the above subject areas, in addition to most foreign languages and in agriculture, we are beginning to reach a point in our scoring where have a strong core team of assessors and no longer need additional assessors to score the general K-12 subject area submissions. To that end, over the next few weeks, we will begin deactivating the accounts of assessor candidates who have not yet certified in select subject areas. If you are still interested in serving as a RESA assessor this year, but have not yet certified, please try to successfully certify over the next few weeks. Please log on to your RESA Assessor account and click on “Training” on the top navigation bar to continue training and attempt certification.
3.) Minor Adjustment to Help Desk Hours:  Finally, our help desk has adjusted coverage hours on Mondays and Fridays, and will be closed for a brief one hour period from 6-7 pm EST. Otherwise, the RESA Help Desk is reachable by calling toll-free (855) 538-8634, Monday through Friday, 2 p.m.–10 p.m. EST, Sat-Sun 9 am – 5 pm, or by

Assessor Recruiting Update – December, 2015

Work From Home as a Paid Assessor for the 2015-2016 Ohio RESA

Calling all RESA assessors! The Assessor Profile has launched and the Ohio RESA team continues to recruit assessors for the 2015-2016 Ohio Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA). We would love for you to consider this opportunity. RESA Assessors will begin training in late December and certified assessors will score the RESA through May 2016.

If you have five or more years of teaching experience and are interested in working part-time as an assessor beginning in late December through May, please take the following next steps:

1. Write our help desk at to request or activate an Assessor Account for 2015-2016. Once you have been sent an activation link, please navigate to the Assessor Profile portion of your account after you log-in. Complete the Assessor Profile to provide us with important background and subject matter expertise that will help us assign you to score appropriate RESA submissions once you pass certification. We will not be able to assign you to assessor training until you have completed this step.

2.  Complete the employment paperwork (Employment Policies, New Vender Form, W-9, and the Non-disclosure Agreement) found on on the right side of this page. If you have served as an assessor for the 2014-2015 RESA, you will only need to update your W-9 if your address or name has changed. Scan and email these employment materials to Sue Coughlin ( at the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County.

3. Review the latest RESA Assessor Webinar (if you missed it live on 12/22/15): This webinar gives RESA assessor applicants an overview of the scoring and training process. It also walks through the assessor application process, which consists of account registration on the online training and scoring system, completion of an assessor profile, and the provision of employment paperwork to the Education Service Center of Cuyahoga County.

4. Spread the word! please forward this email to anyone who fits the Job Description whom you think might be interested in this opportunity. We are looking to significantly expand our assessor base from last year, so we need your help!

We hope to work with you this year!

Scoring the 2015-2016 RESA is Right Around the Corner!

On Wednesday September 30th, the Ohio RESA Team released score reports for the 2014-15 RESA. On behalf of Educopia and the Ohio Department of Education, we would like to extend our appreciation for the high-quality work that you put into this essential project. We set an ambitious goal to have score reports ready by September. This could not have been possible without a dedicated team of experienced educators to score the assessments. You play an essential role in promoting educator effectiveness in Ohio, and we thank you for your service and hope you will join us in scoring the 2015-16 RESA.

We would love to work with you again on scoring  the 2015-2016 RESA. In November, we will reopen Assessor Profiles and in late December, we will put the first group of assessors into RESA task training. Please note that you will still need to retrain and certify to score RESA tasks, for quality assurance purposes.

Referral Program:

If you know of anyone whom you think would be interested in serving in this capacity, please send their names and email addresses to with the subject heading “Assessor Referral.” We greatly appreciate your helping us spread the word about this opportunity.
